18 Watt Combo Amp

After finally putting one of these amps together, I think I understand what all the fuss is about. The amp just oozes classic rock tones!

In this case (as usual), I didn't build the amp exactly to original specs. After some trial and error — a lot of error, actually — I paired the normal Volume/Tone Marshall channel, with its option for paralleled input triodes, with a Volume/Bass/Middle/Treble Fender channel. The Fender channel has a convincing blackface voice at low levels, then morphs into something a little different when it's pushed hard enough to really engage the EL84s.

So far I'm liking this amp a lot, especially with the Eminence Cannabis Rex speaker, which speaks with a fuller voice than the traditional G12M Celestion Greenback.
